Click Light's unique properties lie in its interactive design. Users can connect multiple units, allowing the lighting ropes to stretch, flow, drop, tie, and twist between the metal surfaces in endless organic shapes and combinations. The design is realized using oak wood, black-coated metal, brass, nylon rope, LED strip, and neodymium magnets.
Each shelf unit measures 760 mm in width, 170 mm in depth, and 135 mm in height. The ropes come in lengths of 700, 1000, and 1300 mm. The shelf unit is constructed from two metal surfaces through which low voltage electricity runs. LED-embedded nylon woven ropes with magnetic ends conveniently snap to the metallic surfaces, lighting up when an electric circuit is closed.
StudioKnob's design process was inspired by the challenge of redefining the light switch so that it becomes a part of the phase that the fixture suggests. The Click Light offers a direct interaction, a direct contact and feel between the user and the product, enhancing the personal connection.
After the Click Light was launched at the Wanted Design exhibition, StudioKnob partnered with Aqua Creations for mass production. Aqua Creations, a creative industrial lighting company, helped fine-tune the product, ensuring precision and attention to detail.
The Click Light was awarded the Golden A' Lighting Products and Fixtures Design Award in 2019. This award is granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that advance art, science, design, and technology, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics.
Click Light is not just a lighting fixture; it's a unique element of personalization and interaction in interior lighting design. With its new magnetic mechanism, the creative process shifts to the user, amplifying the experience and the personal connection. It's a testament to StudioKnob's innovative approach to design and their commitment to creating unique and dynamic individual spaces.
